3 Days Desert Tour From Marrakech to Fes

 Day 1: Marrakech – Ait Ben Haddou – Ouarzazate – Rose Valley – Dades Gorge

Your 3-day desert Tour from Marrakech begins with an early pick-up by your private driver from  Morocco Fabulous Trips. Soon after, you’ll begin your ascent through the High Atlas Mountains, crossing the famous Tizi N’Tichka pass at 2,260 meters. Along the way, you’ll enjoy several scenic stops, perfect for photos and appreciating the raw beauty of the landscape.

Next, we arrive at the iconic Ait Ben Haddou, a UNESCO-listed kasbah and cinematic legend featured in films such as Gladiator and Game of Thrones. After exploring its ancient passageways, we continue to Ouarzazate, often called “the Hollywood of Africa,” where you can stop for lunch. Then, we proceed through the lush palm groves of Skoura Oasis, followed by the aromatic Rose Valley. Finally, we reach Dades Gorge, where you’ll settle into a charming riad and enjoy dinner amid the canyon’s dramatic formations.

Day 2: Dades Gorge – Todra Canyons – Merzouga Dunes – Camel Ride – Desert Camp

After a traditional breakfast, your adventure with Morocco Fabulous Trips continues toward Todra Gorges, one of Morocco’s most spectacular natural wonders. But first, you’ll pass through the breathtaking Dades Valley, stopping to enjoy panoramic views of its jagged rock formations and local Berber dwellings.

Then, we reach Todra Canyon, a towering gorge where you’ll have free time to walk and enjoy the calm river cutting through red limestone cliffs. After lunch en route, we drive deeper into the Sahara region, passing through Tinjdad and Touroug, before reaching Merzouga in the late afternoon. At the edge of the dunes, you’ll mount your camel and begin a camel trekking experience across the Erg Chebbi dunes, stopping atop a high dune to witness the sun set over the sands. Finally, you arrive at your luxury desert camp, where you’ll enjoy a Moroccan dinner, Berber music by the campfire, and a night beneath the star-filled sky.

Day 3: Merzouga – Rissani – Ziz Valley – Midelt – Ifrane – Fes

After waking up early to enjoy a spectacular Sahara sunrise, you’ll ride your camel back to the village of Merzouga for breakfast. Then, we drive to Rissani, a town steeped in history and known for its vibrant souk, especially lively on market days (Tuesday, Thursday, and Sunday). After a short visit, we continue to Erfoud, a town famous for fossil workshops and desert marble.

As we move north, we’ll follow the scenic Ziz Valley, pausing for panoramic photos of palm-lined canyons before stopping for lunch in Midelt, nestled in the Middle Atlas. In the afternoon, we pass through Azrou’s cedar forest, where you can interact with friendly Barbary macaques. Finally, we stop at Ifrane, Morocco’s alpine-style resort town, known as the “Switzerland of Morocco,” before concluding the tour in Fes, where you’ll be dropped off at your riad, hotel, or the airport.
