Your grand discovery of Morocco begins the moment you arrive in Casablanca, the nation’s dynamic economic center. We will provide a warm welcome, picking you up from the airport or your accommodation. Our first visit is to the magnificent Hassan II Mosque, an architectural marvel and the largest mosque in Morocco. Situated proudly on a promontory overlooking the Atlantic, its grand scale and intricate details offer a profound introduction to the country’s rich artistic and spiritual heritage.
After taking in the splendor of the mosque, you will have free time for lunch to sample some local cuisine. We will then continue our exploration of the city’s highlights, including a scenic drive along the famous Casablanca Corniche. This beautiful coastal promenade offers a glimpse into the modern, cosmopolitan side of Moroccan life. As the day winds down, we will escort you to your comfortable hotel, where you can relax and prepare for the exciting journey ahead.
Following breakfast, we will journey north along the picturesque Atlantic coast to Rabat, one of Morocco’s four imperial cities and its modern-day capital. Here, you will discover a city that elegantly blends its historical treasures with contemporary importance. Our guided tour will cover Rabat’s key landmarks, including the Hassan Tower, the striking minaret of an incomplete 12th-century mosque, the elegant Mausoleum of Mohammed V, and the charming Kasbah of the Udayas.
We will also explore the Kasbah’s narrow, blue-and-white-washed streets, which offer spectacular views of the ocean. After some free time for lunch in the capital, our journey continues north, driving through the scenic landscapes of the Rif Mountains to reach the enchanting “Blue Pearl” of Chefchaouen. Famous for its calming, blue-painted medina, this city is a visual delight. Upon arrival, we will check you into a traditional Riad for the night.
The morning is yours to enjoy the magical ambiance of Chefchaouen. Feel free to wander through its beautiful, blue-hued medina, capturing photos of its charming streets and browsing the local craft shops at your own pace. After you’ve soaked in the city’s peaceful atmosphere, we will depart towards the ancient Roman ruins of Volubilis. Recognized as a UNESCO World Heritage Site, this remarkably well-preserved site features stunning mosaics and ancient pillars that offer a window into Roman history.
A short drive from the ruins will take us to the imperial city of Meknes, the former capital under the rule of Sultan Moulay Ismail. Known for its grandiose architecture, we will explore its most famous sites, including the monumental gate of Bab Al-Mansour, the vast Sahrij Souani basin, the Royal Stables, and the Mausoleum of Moulay Ismail. In the late afternoon, we complete our day’s journey by driving to Fes, the cultural and spiritual epicenter of Morocco, where you will settle into a traditional Riad.
Prepare for a day of deep cultural immersion as we explore Fes, the oldest of Morocco’s imperial cities, with a knowledgeable local guide. After breakfast, our tour begins with a visit to the magnificent gates of the Royal Palace. We then proceed to the historic Jewish Quarter, known as “the Mellah,” before driving up to an ancient fortress to get a stunning panoramic view over the sprawling medieval medina, providing a perfect orientation before we dive into the labyrinthine streets below.
Next, we will enter the old medina through the iconic Blue Gate (Bab Boujloud) for a comprehensive walking tour. As a UNESCO World Heritage site, the Fes medina is a living museum. We will navigate its narrow alleyways to visit key landmarks such as the Medrasa Bouanania, the Najjarine Fountain, and the famous Tanneries, where leather is still processed using traditional methods. The tour culminates with a visit to the Quaraouiyine Mosque and University, the oldest existing university in the world. After a full day of exploration, we will return you to your Riad.
Today, our adventure shifts dramatically as we travel south towards the Sahara Desert. After a warm breakfast, we drive through the Middle Atlas Mountains to Ifrane, a town often called the “Switzerland of Morocco” for its alpine-style houses. Our next stop is the nearby cedar forest, home to a lively community of Barbary macaque monkeys. You’ll have the opportunity to walk among the giant cedar trees and observe these playful primates in their natural habitat.
We continue our journey, passing through Midelt for a lunch break before ascending the Tizi-n-Tilghmt pass. Absolutely. The first night is spent in the magical desert camp after the camel trek. The second night is in a hotel, which allows for a full day of exploring the surrounding region—including nomads, Khamlia village, and the wild lake—without feeling rushed. It provides a much deeper understanding of Saharan life.
The drive from Essaouira to Casablanca takes approximately 4 to 4.5 hours along the coastal highway. We will plan the departure time carefully based on your flight schedule to ensure you arrive at the airport with plenty of time.
The ideal times for this tour are during the spring (March to May) and autumn (September to November). During these seasons, the weather is pleasant across all the regions you will visit, from the coast to the desert, avoiding the extreme heat of summer and the cold of winter.
